Charity Patrons Spread Festive Cheer
Coronation Street stars along with Hits Radio Presenter, Mike Toolan visited Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital’s Starlight Unit to hand out presents to some of the hospital’s poorliest patients and to sprinkle a bit of festive cheer.
Taking time out of their busy filming schedules were Coronation Street stars and Charity supporters Antony Cotton, Brooke Vincent, Katie McGlynn and Victoria Ekanoye. The stars spent time on a number of wards including Ward 84, the children’s cancer ward at the hospital, which looks after young patients with the condition from across the whole of the North West, as well as the Children’s Starlight Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital.
The hospital’s young patients and their families were delighted to meet their favourite soapstars, who handed out presents and chatted to the young children.
Coronation Street star Antony Cotton commented: “I always look forward to visiting the Children’s Hospital each Christmas; it is incredibly humbling to meet some of the brave patients and their families. As a long-standing patron of the hospital it’s an honour to be able to give something back in this way.”
