Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is a fun and rewarding way to help us make a difference. Your time and talent is valuable in helping to support our fundraising work.

We're on the lookout for helpful and reliable volunteers to assist with a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers must be over 18-years-old, under 18s can attend most of our opportunities as long as they are accompanied by their parent/guardian.

Whether it is store collections, helping out at our events, or assisting in our charity office, there are many ways that you can get involved. Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below...

Collection – Quirki by Cirque Surreal

Date: Friday 18th October – Sunday 3rd November

Times: 15 minutes of collection required after each show - shows at 2:30pm and 7:30pm every day (6:00pm on Sundays)

Number of volunteers required: One family group required for each show

Location: Trafford Centre, Greater Manchester

Age Restriction: Family groups must consist of 2 adults & 2 children or 1 adult & 3 children. Children must be under 16 years old.

Details: We have the fantastic opportunity to hold a 15-minute collection at the end of every performance of the fantastical Quirki by Cirque Surreal during their two-week run over October half-term at the Trafford Centre!

Every family who takes part will receive free tickets to the show they are collecting at – you will have the chance to enjoy the show before volunteering at the end.

Please note that participating families will have to make their own way to and from the Trafford Centre.

Collection - Manchester City Football Club

Where: Etihad Stadium, prior to the Manchester City FC vs Southampton match

When: Saturday 2nd November 2019

Skills Required: A positive outlook and your best smile to encourage donations!

How long: 12.30pm to 3.15pm

Number of volunteers required: 70

We are looking for volunteers to help out with our collection before the Manchester City football match on Saturday 2nd November.  The pre-match atmosphere at MCFC is always great and family friendly – why not bring a friend along to help out as well? 

Please note that this event takes place outside and volunteers are responsible to making their own way to and from the Etihad Campus which is well served by public transport, including Metrolink.  You will be able to collect your collection kit from the team on the day.
