Teddy Toddle

10 May 2020

We're encouraging you to take on your own Teddy Toddle at home, all through Summer 2020!

To hold your own Teddy Toddle, with your grown up you will need to:

Decide what date you want to do your Teddy Toddle
Whilst there may not be much in the diary at the moment, you need to think about having enough time to get sponsored by your friends and family. You may also need to give consideration to any grown-ups working from home or brother and sisters home schooling who may need some peace and quiet at certain times.

Decide where you want your Teddy Toddle to be
The safest place is in your own home – you will need to think carefully about your route. Do you want to go into EVERY room in the house? If you have any outside space, can you include that? Will you go up and down the stairs? How many laps of your route will you do?

Pick your playlist
Music can be great fun when taking on a challenge so you may want to ask your grown up if they could organise a playlist for you as you do your Teddy Toddle. There are lots of great songs that you could choose – we’d love to hear your suggestions on our Teddy Toddle post on Facebook! Our favourites are ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’ by Peter Kay, ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ by Justin Timberlake and ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra.

Who to invite?
You won’t be able to invite your friends to join in but as it’s a Teddy Toddle, you could invite your Teddies! Maybe you will choose your favourite teddy to do the Teddy Toddle with you. You could have your other teddies along your route to cheer you on, or maybe assemble them all at your finish line!

Set up your JustGiving page
The easiest way to get your sponsorship to us is to set up an online giving page – you can use this special link to JustGiving to set up your page. The charity will receive your fundraising directly. Once your JustGiving page is closed and/or you send in any other fundraising, you will be sent a special Teddy Toddle certificate and sticker in the post.

We would love to see pictures of your Teddy Toddle – if your grown up is happy to share them, they can post your photos on our social media.

All your hard work in planning and doing your Teddy Toddle will help provide lots of fun for patients in hospital as your fundraising will support the work of the Play Team.
