As Director of Charities I am responsible for the charity’s overall strategy and implementing our ambitious fundraising programme across all income streams. I joined the charity in 2003 and became Head of Charities in 2007 and Director of Charities in 2018.
My role is to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies in conjunction with Director of Charites and lead an enthusiastic and motivated fundraising team. I also work with the wider Trust to seek out interesting and worthy projects from all nine of our hospitals for the team to fundraise for.
In the Community Fundraising team we work with supporters, schools and community groups to help them organise their own fundraising. I’m regularly out in the community meeting people and promoting the charity. The best thing about my job is meeting different fundraisers and celebrating their success with a cheque presentation!
I’m responsible for producing the Charity’s marketing materials and newsletters, to spread the word about what we do and the wonderful projects that we support. I also help communicate the charity’s activities internally to our hospital staff to increase staff engagement.
I have worked with the charity since 2010 and now head up the Community team. I work with supporters, schools, nurseries and community groups who organise their own fundraising. The best thing about my job is all the people I get to meet and work with - no two days are the same!
I am the Donor Development Officer and oversee the administration department. The department processes all incoming donations and provides support to the fundraising team. I manage our database and profile our donors in order to maximise our mailing campaigns.
I head up our Marketing & Communications team. I am responsible for delivering our Marcomms strategy and increasing the charity’s profile across the region. I am responsible for producing all of the charity’s marketing materials, the website and key mailings to our donors. My favourite part of the job is meeting some of the patients we treat.
As part of the community team, my main role is to help supporters organise their own fundraising, assisting them with the process of registering with us, sending out collection tins/t-shirts and setting up online sponsorship, amongst other things. I’m also on hand to give advice and to take photos with our giant cheque to celebrate all our fundraisers’ hard work.
As the Senior Development Manager I am fortunate to work closely with individuals who are passionate about making a real difference for our patients and help find the right project to enable them to do so. As head of the Major Gifts and Trusts team I also oversee our work with Charitable Trusts and Foundations and our Individual Giving programme.
Based at Wythenshawe Hospital, I work as Community Fundraising Officer supporting and advising fundraisers who wish to raise funds for the Starlight Unit, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital satellite unit at Wythenshawe Hospital. I really enjoy meeting everyone who helps supports us and it makes my job very worthwhile. I particularly enjoy meeting our fundraisers inviting them back to say thank you with our giant cheque!
I'm based in the charity office in the children's hospital. I give advice on fundraising and send out fundraising materials such as collection tins and t-shirts and I also thank our supporters. You’ll often see me about the hospital as I make daily wards visits and get the wonderful opportunity to meet our patients and families.

I support the Events Manager in executing our busy annual events calendar, which could include anything from balls, dinners and concerts to skydives, abseils and runs. I also work on external mass-participation sporting events to ensure our participants are fully supported in their fundraising efforts.
I support companies to deliver their Corporate Social Strategy and make sure they have fun whilst doing so! I’ll help employees to organise fundraising events and will support companies in setting up charitable initiatives; this support will vary from help with marketing to ensuring everything is legal and above board.
I’m really lucky to lead our Corporate Fundraising team working with some amazing team members. Together we are responsible for looking after all our corporate supporters who raise money tirelessly all year round. We also look to engage new partners by developing innovative and exciting ways that they can get involved with our work. I set the strategy and objectives for the team but we all work together to make sure our partners have a great experience working with us… come and join us!
