Be Seen In Green Day 2015

Little boy at RMCH
Friday 17th July 2015

We’re delighted that this year’s Be Seen in Green Day was our biggest and best to date! On Friday 3rd July we had a record number of nurseries, schools and companies taking part in our annual fundraising event, with 17,000 people signing up to wear green in support of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

On the day our charity team, hospital staff, patients and their families joined Humphrey to help turn the hospital as green as possible, with stalls in the atrium, displays on the ward and even a photo booth with green props! There were also lots of delicious green cakes being sold as part of the fundraising activities.

Green was also spreading outside of the hospital with many nurseries and schools joining in the fun to support our charity day. Melissa Sutton, one of our patients from Ward 84, held a very special Be Seen in Green Day at her school, with all pupils at Whitworth High School getting together and donning some green for the day! It was also great to see more businesses getting involved than ever before, with our corporate fundraisers heading across Manchester visiting a range of companies to see them get their green on and take photos with our green selfie frames!

The fundraising event was in support of Ward 84 at the Children’s Hospital. Ward 84, our children’s cancer ward, is home to the North West regional centre for children and young people diagnosed with cancer, treating some of the most poorly children we care for.  All monies raised from the day will go towards the enhancement of the ward to help make a positive difference to the lives of these children.

A huge thank you to everyone that took part and helped make the day such a great success! We couldn't have done it without you all!
